Grandmaster Flash is one of the greatest pioneers of hip-hop DJing, cutting and mixing and he is credited for creating the basic vocabulary which DJs still follow today. In 1977, he first started working with rappers when he collaborated with Kurtis Blow. Shortly thereafter, he teamed up with The Furious Five and the group quickly became legendary. In 2007, Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five became the first rap/hip-hop group to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
