“[The Whigs] evoke the neo-roots-rock vibe of My Morning Jacket, the cool minimalism of The Strokes and the perfectly constructed pop of the early Sixties.” – Rolling Stone

The Whigs are a garage rock band from Athens, Georgia, who recorded their first album Give ‘Em All A Big Fat Lip and released it independently. In July 2006, The Whigs signed with Dave Matthews’ record label ATO Records abd embarked on an extended tour with indie bands Mute Math, Jonezetta, and Club Of The Sons. The band is blowing up right now, having just performed this year on both David Letterman and Conan O’Brian. Their drummer was awarded an Esky award in March 2007 as “Best Drummer” by Esquire magazine.
