Consisting of the brother and sister team of Matthew and Eleanor Friedberger, the band garnered critical praise for its clever wordplay and original songwriting on their debut album, Gallowsbird’s Bark, released in the autumn of 2003, drawing comparisons to another drum and guitar duo, The White Stripes.
