BoomBox w/ Opening Act TBA – Wed, Mar 10th
This pair of dynamic artists uses their rich musical history and their vision of music and popular culture to deliver a style of music distinctly different from anything heard or seen in music today. They have played many festivals including The Echo Project, Wakarusa Music & Camping Festival and Rothbury Music Festival.
Portugal. The Man w/ Port O Brien and The Dig – Sun, Mar 28th
Their style is rooted in indie, but their songs also contain elements of soul, blues, and folk music. They played Lollapalooza and Bonnaroo 2009.
Beats Antique – Wed, Apr 14th
Combination of the sounds of the Middle East with the styles of hip-hop, brass band, downtempo, glitch and dubstep. They have recently toured with Les Claypool, and Bassnectar and they played at Burning Man ’09.
Kaki King w/ An Horse – Wed, May 12th
An American guitar player and singer-songwriter whose style combines fret-tapping with slap bass techniques, using the guitar for percussive beats, as well as sound layering and looping, which creates a complex sound. She has appeared on albums from Tegan and Sara and the Foo Fighters and contributed to the soundtracks for Into the Wild and August Rush.
Midlake w/ John Grant
An indie-rock band who has played festivals such as South by Southwest. Their song “Roscoe” was listed as one of the best 100 songs of the decade by Rolling Stone Magazine. The song “Bandits” was featured in an episode of the FOX television drama Fringe.
