Ghostwriter

Now-Time Troubadour:
Steve Schecter (The Standards/End Of The West) started performing solo as Ghostwriter in the fall of 2002 using a homemade foot-percussion device, hollow body guitar, harmonica and banjo. Although his music has been described as bleak, angry, self-loathing and even apocalyptic; Ghostwriter’s true irreverence is a welcome change to the usual posturing or overly perfected sub-genres of rock ‘n roll today. Ghostwriter’s releases include 2003’s “As I Go Alone (songs of love and significance)” and 2004’s “Road Angels and Torrential Rain (travel, murder and loss)” on his own End Of The West Records. In 2005 Rock n’ Roll Purgatory Records released a Wailin’ Elroys/Ghostwriter split 7” and he had a track included with the ranks of T-Model Ford and Immortal Lee County Killers on ‘This Is Punk Rock Blues,’ a compilation released on London’s Punk Rock Blues Records. Between October ‘02 and the present Ghostwriter has toured eight times in the States (primarily East Coast, Southeast and Midwest) and twice through England and Germany. He was invited to play at Sleazefest in Chapel Hill in ‘03 and ‘04. In August of ‘03 and March/April of ‘04 Ghostwriter had the distinct privilege of touring as the opening act for Dex Romweber (former Flat Duo Jets). In April of ‘05 Ghostwriter was invited to play at Not The Same Old Blues Crap in London opening for T-Model Ford coinciding with the release of the Punk Rock Blues Records compilation. In 2006 Ghostwriter plans to release a third full-length album and continue making his blemish on society via touring and festivals. ”
