Before understanding David Saw it is best to first listen to his music as he is potentially one of the most wonderful creators of heartfelt guitar songs to have hit the music scene in the past five years. Some singer songwriters have great lyrics others have great melodies David has them both. Add to this a look which would be at home on the poster adorned walls of Stereophonics, Coldplay, Travis fans and the mix is perfect.

David Saw earned his spurs playing guitar in local bands from age 16. From there he developed into the fine singer/ songwriter he is today performing in local and London acoustic venues before assembling his band of accomplished musicians. Much time spent travelling the US in particular Nashville, the home of the music which inspires him, has triggered a songwriting talent with literally dozens of compositions to his name.

His debut album ‘Different Story’ had him marked down as an artist whose songs will become the backdrop to relationships , the break ups , the making ups and everything in between. His lyrics reach out and grab you with an irony that makes you smile and on occasions cry, not surprising when you consider that his works have been inspired by everything from lost love, wild love and departed friends.

He happily explains how he has nothing of his own, no real belongings, no real place to live, just a sack full of memories and great songs. He is the epitome of a wandering spirit who has yet to find his home but moves from place to place making new friends playing in bars and festivals and then moving on. If one song sums him up it is ‘Big Deal’ a reference point to those who believe possessions make happiness, the title clearly underlines David’s view on this.

2004 was a year of constant gigging up and down the country with loads of solo performances both acoustically and with his band, plus opening support slots for Robert Cray, Eric Bibb, Ray Davis, Mike & The Mechanics and Paul Carrack, plus festivals such as WOMAD with Chris Difford.

This year has seen a frenzy of songwriting and demoing new material for a second album and plans for a tour of the USA underway!
