Children’s Health Foundation

In just a short number of years, Children’s Health Foundation has raised over $3 million for its Lunch for Life and student-related programs in schools, impacting 16,000 students in the state of Colorado. Children’s Health Foundation has established itself as a leader, innovator and champion of health initiatives that benefit children and seek to eliminate childhood obesity through healthy school lunches.
Children’s Health Foundation has solidified a multi-year partnership with The Colorado Health Foundation, one of the largest foundations in Colorado ($900 million in assets) and a major supporter of the Lunch for Life Program. The Aspen Institute and its co-presenter, TIME magazine, recently invited Children’s Health Foundation to participate at its 2009 Health Forum discussing the theme: Food for a New World. This gathering included leading thinkers in health and biomedical science from around the world.
The Lunch for Life Program has been recognized by the Colorado Legacy Foundation as part of an award given to the Garfield RE-2 School District; the Commissioner of Education’s Award was presented by Governor Bill Ritter in 2009, an important acknowledgement for the organization.
