A.G of D.I.T.C.
Old-school mic skills meet new-school production on the new album from legendary MC AG (Show & AG, DITC), featuring tracks by J-Dilla, Madlib, DJ Design, Jake One, Oh No, Lord Finesse, and Show. Making his debut on neighborhood rival turned friend, Lord Finesse’s debut album “Funky Technician”, Andre the Giant was introduced to Showbiz, a deejay & producer looking for an emcee. Together, Showbiz & AG dropped their first EP “Party Groove/Soul Clap” in 1991, formally introducing the world to the Diggin’ In The Crates crew.
After selling a respectable number of copies on their own, the duo was signed to Payday Records as the label’s first group. The following year, they released their full-length RUNAWAY SLAVE to critical acclaim, and subsequently, the album GOODFELLAS, which is labeled a classic.
GOODFELLAS WAS DWARFED BY THE FACT THAT SHOW & AG WERE ARRESTED FOR MURDER ON THE RELEASE DATE OF THE ALBUM [CRAZY!!]. After beating the murder charge, they decided to go totally independent. They released “Fullscale” and was awarded BEST INDEPENDENT ALBUM OF THE YEAR AWARD, documented in The Source Power 30 in 1998.
In late 1999, AG released his first solo album called THE DIRTY VERSION. This album featured DITC members and spotlighted his Get Dirty 74 crew (Ghetto Dwellas). In 2006 he teamed for the first time with many west coast producers and released GET DIRTY RA.
